Commercial acne treatments or home remedies
You’re at an impasse: your acne is flaring up, and you know you need acne treatment, but there is just so much choice around! There are so many options, not to forget that half acne treatments are commercial in nature, and the other half home remedies, so which way to go? Not knowing what to do causes people to do the wrong thing, or worse, do nothing at all in fear of making their acne worse.
So let’s discover together when you need commercial treatments and when home remedies are more appropriate.
Commercial acne treatments are mostly used when acne is moderate to severe, your face is full of eruptions, or the acne doesn’t want to go away even after several weeks, as it seems it has found its new home: your skin. Commercial stuff is perceived to be safer because it is medically recommended and sometimes even prescribed by doctors. However don’t let this fact fool you: not all commercial treatments are doctor prescribed. There are several topical, over the counter commercial products that claim to be endorsed by this or that practitioner, and that means nothing in itself.
The battle is really in one place only. Let me explain. When your acne is severe you need to visit a specialist, a dermatologist who will prescribe you a proper acne treatment, including various lotions, pills and other chemicals that should kill your zits without mercy. Do not go testing over the counter treatments on your skin when you have a papules, cysts, nodules, when you can see that your acne is severe. Not so for mild acne.
For mild, or moderate acne in nature, you can start looking into various options: acne home remedies, or over the counter commercial products. Both types do a good job, and the battle for being #1 is not likely to be won any time soon. There are people who swear on topical products, and others who say they cured their acne purely using home remedies and that in record time!
No matter what you do, don’t forget: if you’ve left your acne spread all over your face, neck or other body parts, you need to act, and act fast. You need to see a specialist who will guide you further. If you only start to have your first zits, first try some of the popular home remedies, they have worked for thousands of people and there is no reason they might not work for you. And another plus: they are free and easily to be found in your home.
If you find these don’t work, or you are not convinced by alternative healing practices, then by all means, go to your fellow pharmacists, to the nearest drugstore or hookup on the internet and buy your over the counter acne treatment. But read this article first for some really good topical acne product recommendations, so you don’t end up spending heaps of money until you find the right one for you.
